What does your 3-Phase Marketing Framework look like?

2) How to do a quick reality check on your customer acquisition

Knowing your target market is essential when it comes to the success of any business.

It’s like playing darts — if you don’t know where the board is, you’ll keep missing the bullseye.

Sometimes, the best thing to do is to roll up your sleeves and do the dirty work: Go and look at your leads one-by-one.

Start by downloading your last 200 leads/signups, and do a 'reality-check':

🔍 Start by those using their own domain names.

🔍 Check their companies and Linkedin Profiles.

🔍 Check whatever analytics you've. Keep it simple. Just a quick look.

"Let's see who you are"... Be curious w/ your prospects

Who are they?

Is this the buyer persona you described?

Is this person I want to attract?

Sometimes is easy to see our leads as "numbers" or "data," and we forget to see them as people. Make adjustments and check again in a few months.

3) The 5 Vectors of Innovation in AI

ChatGPT is not the only game in town.

With the monumental leap that is chatbots powered by LLMs, many industry observers forget that text and code aren’t the only currently explosive vectors of innovation in AI.

There’s actually a total of 5 vectors of innovation that are currently seeing exponential progress in AI:

  1. Images: led by Midjourney

  2. Videos: led by Runway and LumaLabs (deep dive upcoming)

  3. Computer Vision: led by Meta

  4. Text: led by GPT-4 and Bard

  5. Code: led by Code Interpreter and AutoGPT

All these different vectors of AI innovation are multiplying the possibilities. So as product builders and techies, we can’t just think about text. Think about all 5 vectors of innovation, and which are the best fit to incorporate into your product.

💝 Bonus Snack: This is how Aakash Gupta opened one of his recent newsletter editions. Bring it here to bring awareness that Ai innovations go beyond chatGPT.

4) Increase popup conversion using the 60% Rule

While they're often thought of as intrusive, popups convert 3% of site visitors, on average.

And strategic, high-performing popups can reach ~10% conversion.

To make higher-converting, less intrusive popups, try the 60% Rule:

  • Open your website's analytics and see what the average time spent is on a specific page you'd like to use a popup on ⏱

  • Set your popup to appear after 60% of the average time spent on your specific page. ⌛️So if the average time spent on a page is 50 seconds, set your popup to appear 30 seconds after visitors land on that page.

At that point, readers have shown interest in your content but are nearing the end of their session. Prompting them with a relevant and valuable incentive in exchange for their email will feel like a fair exchange.
