ACQUISITION & REFERRAL
1) Showcase testimonials for each persona.
Ahrefs uses a widget that displays testimonials based on buyer personas.
Each of them addresses a problem or highlights a feature/solution that matters to that role.

They also made sure to feature recognized names in each category.
Do the same in three simple steps:
1. Identify Key Personas: Start by identifying the primary personas or categories of your user base.
2. Collect Testimonials: Gather testimonials from users in each persona category. Ensure that these testimonials highlight the unique benefits and features relevant to that specific group.
3. Implement: Develop a widget or feature on your website that can detect or ask the user's persona. Based on this information, display the relevant testimonials.

ACTIVATION
2) Not all friction is bad

If you want to increase your product's activation, you have to understand this:
Getting rid of all friction is a BAD thing.
Removing every onboarding question, guided product action, or additional step just so that users land in the product a little bit quicker is NOT the way to go.
Yes, time to value is critical.
And yes, you want to get them inside your product and run free as quickly as possible.
But.
And this is a big BUT.
You need to understand 2 things:
1. Why different users sign up. (What they're trying to solve)
2. What they need to do in the product to achieve that goal.
Most of the time, users will need a little bit of product hand-holding to successfully find and do what they need to.
A little bit of friction, in the beginning, can pave the way for a seamless path towards activation (which is them experiencing the value they were hoping for)

RETENTION
3) The Best Audiences to Retarget
Retargeting is an incredible way to do 3 things:
→ Increase your chances to sign
→ Improve your brand image
→ Remind you exist
Each step of your sales funnel can be improved.
As with everything in marketing, your goals are to:
Be understood: use clear messaging, so your target client understands how you can help them.
Be relevant: segment your audiences by need to make this messaging even more efficient according to each audience segment.
Be trusted: show use cases, success stories, your expertise, and your positioning, to appear both trustworthy and accessible.
Be remembered: have a strong positioning and be present along your target customers' journey so they remember and choose you.

Don't try to change your target customers' world. Try to help them as much as you can along their journey.

🛠 TOOL OF THE WEEK
beehiiv is the tool that I use to run this newsletter. It’s different because it has a GROWTH engine embedded into the platform.
It’s a marketplace that allows you to buy or sell subscribers (via referrals).
This means it’s:
→ A new channel of acquisition.
→ A new channel of monetization.
Give it a try, it’s hard to find new good performing channels!
