PRODUCT VALIDATION
1) Donāt ask for feedback, ask for money.
If I had to share one of the most important lessons I learnt as a first-time founder, this would be it:
Donāt ask for feedback on your idea or business. Ask for money.
When I started my clothing brand almost two years ago, I asked people for feedback. And guess what, it was overwhelmingly positive. Guess how many of those I talked to bought when I launched? Zero.
The ones who bought didnāt talk ā they acted.
Asking for feedback makes you feel good. Asking for money tells you the truth.
The best feedback is cash in your pocket.

2) Cold outreach: Keep it simple
Cold emails with a loom-style video of the founder demoing the thing are about a billion times better than not.

3) Implement a āLost Reasonā in the CRM
There is so much information that is lost over time in a sales org ā sales reps leave, leadership turnover, data isnāt tracked in the CRM and we āforgetā what happened 3 quarters ago.
To combat this, we recommend implementing a āLost Reasonā field on your opportunities.
This is a mandatory field that has to be filled out in order to disposition a deal as ālostā and requires two things:
1) a dropdown with a narrow group of defined options
2) an open text field for additional detail.
For example, you might select āProduct Featuresā and your note might read āAbility to [Insert Need] on par with [Competitor X]ā
The more specific, the better!
